Do hybrids and electric cars have a 12V battery?
Yes. The 12V battery runs the computers, locks and lights, and switches on the high-voltage system.
Can you jump start a hybrid or EV?
Yes, through the 12V jump points listed by the maker. We never connect to the high-voltage battery.
Which hybrids and EVs do you work on?
Most popular models, including Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, Tesla, MG, BYD and more.
What's the difference between AGM and EFB?
EFB is a tougher flooded battery for entry-level stop-start cars. AGM handles even more cycling and suits premium and regenerative-braking cars.
Can I put a normal battery in my stop-start car?
It isn't recommended. A standard battery usually fails early and can cause stop-start faults.
Can I replace AGM with EFB?
No. If your car came with AGM, it should stay AGM. EFB can usually be upgraded to AGM.
Does my car need the battery registered?
Many European and newer cars do. We check your car and register the battery on the spot if it's needed.
Do you replace the high-voltage battery?
No. We only work on the 12V system. High-voltage repairs need a specialist workshop.
